Centrally located in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula, Sall-Mar is your fishing and hunting headquarters. Our guests enjoy a wealth of natural resources made even more memorable by good conservation practices. 

Sall-Mar Resort sits on the north end of Little Bay De Noc. While the bay has gained national attention for it’s World Class Walleye Fishery, it also hosts good numbers of Smallmouth Bass, Perch, Splake and huge Great Lakes Northern Pike. In the spring tributary rivers attract spawning runs of steelhead, and in the fall Chinook Salmon. Excellent hunting for Grouse, Woodcock, Deer, Bear and Waterfowl is only a few minutes away. The Hiawatha National Forest has Thousands of acres of pristine wilderness to be explored by all.
Your hosts Bob, Kevin & Kenneth Lee at Sall-Mar Resort offer many different combinations of lodging. Our motel has 6 units, two with queen size beds, three with two double beds, and one deluxe unit we call the apartment. The apartment includes three double beds, a large living room with two couches, one of which is a hide-a-bed, and a large kitchen. Our cabins offer choices as well. Beside the standard two bedroom cabin with double beds, we have two cabins with one single bed, and a larger cabin with one double bed, two twin size and a hide-a-bed. All cabins have cooking facilities with utensils included.

Winter activities include cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and our specialty ... Ice Fishing. Heated shanties are available with transportation provided to and from. Not only will we take you to your shanty, but we will also show you the latest fishing techniques to give you a leg up on the fish of a lifetime.

Springtime rituals include perch fishing, smelt dipping, mushroom hunting and a unique experience offered only at Sall-Mar Resort... guided walks at night along the Rapid River and sloughs of the Little Bay de Noc to shine Great Lakes walleye and northern pike as they spawn in as little as six inches of water. It’s nature at it’s best and well worth a couple hours of lost sleep.

Aside from the areas great fishing and hunting, a person should leave plenty of time to visit nearby waterfalls, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, an iron mine, a historic Ghost Town, a golf course or two and their choice of two different casinos.
